| Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced last Friday her recommendation to halt implementation of the Community Living Assistance Services and Supports (CLASS) Act. In letters to congressional leaders, Sebelius wrote that she does not see “a viable path forward for CLASS implementation at this time,” and recommends a halt to the program’s implementation efforts. | HHS is "Listening" to Ideas on Essential Benefits |
| Now that the Institute of Medicine has released its recommendations to HHS regarding PPACA’s essential benefit requirements, HHS has announced it will be hosting a series of “listening sessions” over the next few weeks to get public feedback. The agency will use the information it gathers from the listening sessions, along with the IOM report, to formulate the essential benefit regulation, which is expected to be released in “late spring 2012.” Read More |
